I recently linked up with the popular hip hop artist Frenchie, who is part of the mega group Brick Squad. We decided along with his manager Birdman to shoot a visual for his intro song "Parenthood" from his latest project "Long Over Due 2". The song has Frenchie describing his early relationship with his mother and father along with his hopes for his own children. I came up with an idea of showing him sitting in his families living room, including placing pictures of him and his parents through the years around him. I also brought my dolly track out to give it a very smooth and cinematic feeling to capture the seriousness nature of his lyrics. I hope you enjoy the video!
Behined The Scenes: Oshea & Breeze Barker Everybody Know Me
Oshea and Breeze Barker hit me up while I was in VA to come out to shoot a new video for them. The song is called "Everybody Knows Me" and has both artists going in on some real hip hop music. We shot the video in Portsmouth near a Skate Park which had some very dope young talent out there. Keep a look out for the video coming out in May! Stay focused and Enjoy!
Page Interview with HipHopSince1987.com
While on my trip to VA I was able to catch Page doing an interview with Rick Dange from HipHopSince1987.com. It is for a section on the website called 30 for 30 which includes a small freestyle and short interview. Page kicked a cool freestyle for them and let them know about his latest project "While I Was Writing My Mixtape Pt 2". Keep a look out for his new videos and music. Enjoy and remember to focus on progress!
Behind The Scenes: Swagga Smiles - Put On & Put On
I filmed a music video with a long time collaborator this past week Swagga Smiles. We shot the video for a song called "Put On and Put On" which is a new song from his mixtape "One|Ten". It will have a short story in it based off the tragic events that took place with Trayvon Martin. Keep a look out for the video coming out this May. Enjoy and stay focused!
Behind The Scenes: Page - Started From The Bottom [Pictures]
I left for Norfolk, VA late last week to film a couple videos and the first one was for Page. It is a quick music video to a freestyle over the popular track from Drake "Started From The Bottom". Page and DJ Tyson brought out the Escalade for the video shoot which was the primary focus for the video. Keep a look out for the music video coming out soon. Enjoy and keep progressing!
Boiler Room Cypher with Prodigy, Boogz Boogetz & Rick Gonzalez
Last week I was invited to come to the Boiler Room Show by Boogz Boogetz to film some footage of Boogz Boogetz, Prodigy and the Actor/Rapper Rick Gonzalez. Once I arrived I was informed there was not to be any footage recorded outside of the main crew and it turned into a cool experience just to watch. All three of them went in during their different turns on the mic. After the show we caught dinner which was the main reason I wrote this blog about the day. It showed me a new light on the movie and music industry inspiring me to get to work more. Enjoy and remember to always make progress!
In The Studio with Boogz Boogetz & Vado
This past week I had the opportunity to film a studio session with Boogz Boogetz and Vado, who recently signed to DJ Khaled's We The Best record label. The session was for a new song that will be featured on Boogz's upcoming project due out this spring. It was very interesting to meet Vado for the first time and see how he works on a song. It took him less then 15 minutes to step into the booth and start recording his verse. Boogz and Vado were cracking jokes the whole time which brightened the session up into a rememberable one. I am looking forward to getting back up with both of them this week for the video shoot to the newly recorded song. Have a great day everyone and remember to always aim for progression!
